TULAD NG DATI follows the current exploits of theFilipino rock band, The Dawn, composed of Teddy Diaz, JB Leonor, Caloy Balcells and Jett Pangan. During thesecond half of the 1980s, the band had risen to becomethe most influential musical rock group of the time. At the height of their popularity, their leader, Teddy Diaz is murdered. The remaining members decide tocontinue on with the music but eventually disband in1995. In 2000, The Dawn reunited.
Tulad ng Dati starts in 2006. It revolves around thecharacter of Jett Pangan who is nearing his forties.Jett has lost his passion for life and music due tothe band's lost popularity and entertains thoughts ofretiring from the band. On a fateful night, Jett isassaulted by burglars and goes into a coma. He wakesup with no memory of his life after 1988 which includes his wife and child, his newbandmates and Teddy's death. He remembers that he is20 years old and is at the peak of his career with TheDawn. Not satisfied with how things turned out withhis life, he tries to change everything back to theway it used to be. The path he takes while finding hisplace in this strange new world proves itself to be atough, emotional, and sometimes hilariousjourney—accompanied by the celebrated music of TheDawn, both past and present.
