9th Cinemanila International Film Festival

Showcasing the World’s Best: Berlinale and Cannes Winners at the 9^th Cinemanila International Film Festival

Celebrating the best of world cinema, the 9^th Cinemanila International Film Festival brings to the Philippines winners and other important films from the festivals at Berlin and Cannes . Among the films to be shown at the CIFF are the Palm D’Or winner at Cannes, 4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days; The Edge of Heaven, nominated for the Palm D’Or and winner of Best Screenplay; South African film U-Carmen eKhayelitsha, Golden Berlin Bear winner in 2005; Park Chan-wook’s I’m a Cyborg But That’s OK, nominated for the Golden Berlin Bear; and 2 Days in Paris by actor/director Julie Delpy (Before Sunset, Before Sunrise).

The 9^th Cinemanila International Film Festival will have its run from 8 to 19 August 2007 at SM Mall of Asia and other selected SM theatres. The CIFF is organized jointly by the Independent Cinema Association of the Philippines (ICAP), the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA), SM Cinemas, and a specially commissioned inter-agency committee.
